Thread: Sockeye in Seward still?

  1. #1

    Default Sockeye in Seward still?

Just wondering if there are some in Seward still? Might have a chance to go down there this weekend. Can you snag silvers in the same spot? At the mouth of Resurrection River? Anyone ever done that?

Thanks for all and any answers. Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Was down in Seward on Sat-Sun, and watched the snagging for a while. I didn't see any fish being carried back by anyone, and there were a good number of people out there trying. Talked to several, and they all said it was very slow. I think the run is basically over.

I was planning on being in Seward 4th of July weekend and I was wondering the same thing. Is the Red run over yet and or are the Silvers running yet?

Reds are pretty much over and no silvers here yet. I have herd reports they are catching a few out at pony.

Thanks for the update. Also, is it a good place to catch silvers from the beach, there where they snag sockeye?

Pulled in 6 sockeye over the weekend. Even saw them jumping out in the open water. Definitely not as hot as a couple weeks ago but there are still some coming in. The seiners were waiting in the bay which tells me even they think the run isn't done.
