Runs between Hammersley Lake and Lake Coville, northeast of King Salmon.

    Thanks.

I have never been there, sorry. Hopefully someone else will chime in that has though! Good luck on your trip.

Great fishing for the first 5 miles or so, and the bottom 8 miles (those are the area accessible by guides from the lakes). A bit of pressure in the middle, but the rest of the river is only fishably by floating. If you find good fishing, stay for a while. Watch out for the big rapid 8 miles down or so. A great river though. The bottom few miles the river really slows down and can be quite lowsy fishing. If you are getting picked up at the bluff the fishing is lowsy there. If you can camp upstream and float out your last day is much better. Watch out for wind on the lower few miles though as there is practically no current so you will have to paddle.

Thanks. Where does the pressure come from in the middle. I thought it was inaccessible except by boat? Are the bottom 8 miles your are referring to the braids?

pmo - How was the water level? Sounds like it has been high this year. We are floating the American in 10 days and wanted to know how the river conditions were. We have been there before but any new intell for this year would be great. Thanks

    have fun dragging...

unless there's been a ton and I mean a ton of rain things were the lowest I've seen in 4 years! Although the rain coulda done some good.
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
