That looks like a Kermode Black Bear (Spirit Bear) that is rubbed out. Cool pic!!!

For sure looks like a bear cub to me. At first I thought canine, but zooming in, the head and snout look bearish.

    Nice Picture, thanks.

I first thought wolf but the butt looks too big...glacier/kermode/spirit bear is what I'd say.

Darn nice pic and a rare find.

Take that photo to a Biologist.....it looks like a bear body but to me has a canine face and ears.

Great! Another endangered species in Alaska. That will shut down the oil activity for about 25 years. Don't send it to ADN!

I meant to post some more comments on the photo, but the post got kind of screwed up...

Anyways, its a Spirit Phase (Kermode) Black Bear...

I've seen it a couple times in the area I like to hunt....Was full draw on it a few weeks ago from about 20 yards with my bow before I realized it was a spirit bear and not a Glacier Bear. They're protected down here in S.E. so you can't harvest them....

I'd guess the bear is probably around 5' from when I saw it the first time. It definately rubbed out A LOT more than it was when I first saw it.....Hence...it looks like a chupacabra....

Right now a Spypoint IR-A.....Plan on picking up a Reconyx HC600 or 500 as I've heard they pretty much never have blurry pictures...

My understanding is that "technically" they are the same, but the "white" ones are far more rare....now...thats my understanding, and I may be wrong....

Its my understanding you can take one a year on blue bears and kermode are not really here and recognized only on Queen Charlotte's as a special phase bear.Sperit, glacier and blue are all the same bear

Unit 1C and 1D prohibits the taking of a "Kermode" phase....

OneLung - You're suffering from slow trigger speed "shutter speed" on your game cam. Cuddeback now has a very new camera that's going to be hard to beat. I've got a Cuddeback IR and have had buddies jump in front of the camera and it freezes them in mid-air. I find Cuddeback hard to beat.

Yeah I know...Its pretty lame. I bought the camera off of camofire.com when it was on there so it was on the cheap....I've been looking at a bunch of others because the blurry photos get old!
