Default POW August Alpine Blacktail Hunt. What cabin?

A group of four of us are heading to Prince of Wales the 17-27 of August. We were wondering if one of the Tongrass cabins on the island would make sense to access the Alpine areas to reach the blacktail that time of year? What would be the best cabin?

The "trick" with choice Forest Circus cabins is to book them 6 months (to the day) in advance. Good luck with 2 months to go.

Best alpine is your own cabin, a tent. If there is a cabin its been hit pretty good over the years.
Even a jackass won't stumble on the same stone twice.

No kidding. I was driving back from TB yesterday and couldn't believe the amount of snow still up on the backside of the Klawock Peaks! Looks like the driving rain showed up just in time for the king salmon opener tho, so all the snow will be washed away! haha

I saw a huge buck that was killed on a mountain that gets absolutely pounded by hunting pressure every year, in early Sept last year. After I'd been up there! haha You never know where you'll run into that big buck!

I'm running about 90lbs for camp/big buck. Makes me hurt for a few days.
