ship creek to beluga
i am trying to gather information on strategies or any insite to taking aboat from ship creek to the beluga river, how long of run tips to timing the tide etc etc etc, any help would be appreciated
Start out an hour before high tide both coming and going. Can't help you with the amount of time it will take since I have never made the run and don't know what you will be using. It is close to 30 miles from Ship Creek to the mouth of Beluga River so figure on an hour of running. Don't run along the shoreline there are some rocks out there and plenty of sand bars if the rest of the inlet is any indication. Do not push your luck if the tide has gone out, the weather starts turning bad, or you are losing daylight fast.
