    Default Gulkana numbers Bummer

Well I hate to be the one to say it but the numbers are the lowest ever at the tower this year. Keep your eye out for a possible emergency change order concerning the King Fishing. That is not to say a push of fish are not on there way just as of this weekend it was not looking good. That being said the Copper numbers seem to be a little off and with the rain it just might heat things up. If your planning a trip it might behoove you to check with the ADF&G and get some data.

    Another down year for Gulkana.

    She's in good company.

I expect the Copper River PU fishery to close the kings off as usual any time now. Bummer about the numbers, but they may show up still.

The reds started out hot but it's been slow for a couple of weeks at the counter. It needs to pick back up just to keep pace with expected returns now. I won't get into how many fish the commercial fleet has taken early in the game....

Wow, I called that. Just checked the EO's and starting June 27, Copper River personal use is closed to the retention of king salmon.

No one in-river group will be made to shoulder all of the conservation burden. Share and share alike.
