    Arrow 416 Rigby "Target loads"

I just bought myself a Ruger magnum in .416 Rigby. I shot the iron sights at 50yds and pop bottles where no problem and recoil was loads less than I thought it would be. Still I would like to load some light target loads. I see the manuals have all the standard powders listed, whick works best? is there somewhere I can get lead bullets? How light can I go before I get high pressure from not enough powder? Finnaly does anyone have a good hunting load for the .416? In the Barnes manual it lists the 325gr XFB with 105grs of H4350 as reaching 2893fps with 5911 ft/lbs and only -7.44 low at 300ys with a 200yd zero (+ 1.71 @ 100) about equal to the trajectory of a Barnes .308 winchester with a 150gr bullet. Has anyone shot this load? I was thinking more the 100gr load with same bullet and powder. Any thoughts?

I don't know Doug, if I find another I might just buy that one for me too! I'd let you use it (maybe) though.

I can't help with the light load question, but I have reloaded a 300gr Barnes X with 108gr of IMR 4350 and it shoots sub MOA at I believe about 2850fps I haven't chronoed the load yet so I dont have a exact speed.

Unfortuanetly Barnes doesn't produce the 325's any longer. A guy at Barnes told me they weren't a hot seller despite there amazing balistics. He did tell me that they are considering the MXR in 325gr depending on if they continue to get requests. So send your Emailed requestes heres a link.

Here is another link of a place that has great information for comparing inferior calibers to the far superior 416 Rigby!

Then there are these guys,http://www.lostriverballistic.com/LR...ata2005Jan.pdf the guy I spoke with told me he would design a 325gr BT for a resonable fee and a minimum # purchased. I haven't heard any good about these guys so I haven't persued this yet. If anyone is interested in splitting the cost of getting one designed give me a PM!
