    Default VIDEO: How to catch a sockeye salmon using "Stick & String" method 2011

    We completed a challenage of catching sockeye salmon using a fresh cut branch and mono with weight and hook. Just cause we can and it was fun.

    So easy a ........you know the rest

    Should have seen the state trooper stalking us in the woodline thinking we were up to something no good...haha

    Nice job. Looks like fun to me. The Trooper was probably a bit confused, and ya' can't really blame him.

    LOL I cant even catch a fish using a regular tackle set up and you guys catch em with a stick. Too funny.

    That was very well done. Makes me want to get back down there again. It was a good weekend and heading down again Friday. Took a co-worker along and he caught his first salmon and a limit at that. We did catch lots of fish with fly rods but now will have to find a piece of bamboo and give it a try.

    Good stuff. Some say ya gotta have an $800 11wt with a $500 reel and that $100 line to catch a red...ya proved them folks wrong. HAHA
    I have such a hard time trying to decide which outdoor activity to do every chance I get!! Living in AK is a mental challenge
